Annalakshmi is a voluntary organization supporting the charitable projects of The Shiva Shantha Trust (Chennai).

Annalakshmi, where food is not just for the body but also for the soul. Where - “Athithi Devo
Bhava” - is not a concept but a practice. Started with an ideal of providing traditional Indian cuisine in an atmosphere of an Indian cultural ambience.

Started in 1986, Annalakshmi, is in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Penang, Chennai, Coimbatore, Perth (Western Australia), and many more to come.Everywhere, all the work is done by Swamiji’s devotees and all are volunteers. No waiters or waitresses, only ‘Annalakshmies’, any of whom could be a school teacher, an accountant, a doctor, a lawyer, housewife, a student or a retiree.

We serve the rich and the famous. We also serve the humble simple souls by the roadside, silently. Annalakshmi is more than a vegetarian restaurant. It is a place “Where Vegetarian Dining is a Cultural Experience”. The work here is done as an Aradhana to the Divine; practicing the concept of “Karmayoga”. Whenever you dine at Annalakshmi, you are becoming a divine instrument in wiping the tears of the poor.

Food, being the gift of mother nature, has inspired Swamiji to visualize the concept of
“Eat As You Like And Pay As You Feel" - in many or our branches. The guest are free to eat what they like and give us what they feel, there being no fixed menu price. And that which is given from the heart, is more valuable for the good purpose it serves.

Apart from our restaurants, we also do outdoor catering to various corporate companies, social functions, private parties, etc.


Restaurant working hours:-

OPEN - Tuesday to Sunday (Monday weekly holiday) LUNCH- 12 noon till 2.30p.m. DINNER -7.30 p.m. till 9.45 p.m.

Dress code - Semi formal.

No smoking. No alcohols.
